Housing Services and Development
Vantage Health System, Inc. (VHS) is a Non Profit 501 (c) 3 developer of permanent housing for special needs housing operating in 25 Bergen County towns for over 50 years. Vantage presently has an operating budget of over $10.5 million dollars annually and employs a staff of 180. VHS is a multi-purpose service organization in addition to being a housing developer benefitting more than 3,000 individuals and families annually including over 135 male adolescents served in our residential substance abuse program, Touchstone Hall. VHS operates six (6) homes for 51 adults with a mental illness in transitional and permanent housing. We also provide in home support services to an additional 50 individuals living in their own apartments.
Vantage Health System takes great pleasure in announcing that it will be breaking ground shortly on a new 17 unit building in Closter, NJ for adults with a mental illness. We are especially proud of this endeavor as the building will be LEEDS certified Housing, which means that it meets rigid energy saving and Green Housing standards.
Partnership Initiatives (COAH)
Vantage also offers assistance to municipalities to achieve their fair share plan, and it can do projects in a turn-key manner. VHS has a full-time housing element working on new ventures to expand its permanent housing production.
New Addition: November 2009
VHS is also proud to announce the addition of 4 units of Housing made possible through grants awarded from the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and the County of Bergen. VHS purchased this foreclosed property and will remodel it to accommodate 4 low income special needs individuals.
